NEWSRGT Selected for 'Stepping Stone Global R&D' Program, Accelerating Development of Serving Robot with Intelligent Marketing Solution

RGT (Robot Global Team), a total solution provider for service robots, announced on August 29 that it has been selected for the 'Stepping Stone Global R&D Support Program' under the Startup Growth Technology Development Project.

Through this program, which supports technology development and global commercialization for startups aiming to expand overseas, RGT plans to begin developing an intelligent robot marketing solution utilizing mobile service robots.

RGT's 'Intelligent Robot Marketing Solution' allows service robots in stores to autonomously collect and analyze customer interest and behavior data, and recommend real-time personalized products to approaching consumers.

It can also provide an immersive shopping experience for consumers by introducing products through advanced natural language processing technology and multimedia content. Simultaneously, it provides intelligent marketing data to business owners by analyzing the behavior patterns, movement paths, product preferences, gender, and age of customers who approach the robot. Additionally, it will offer an optimization system for store operation management by monitoring and predicting store congestion.

RGT plans to incorporate this technology into its AI autonomous driving serving robot 'SIRBOT' to further enhance the 'SIRBOT Retail type' specialized for the retail industry.

An RGT representative stated, "Since its first introduction to large supermarkets in South Korea in 2022, SIRBOT has been equipped with our latest advanced autonomous driving technology, enabling stable navigation even in complex environments based on operational data collected from various large supermarkets. We have also successfully completed driving tests in large spaces exceeding 1,000 pyeong (approximately 3,305 square meters)."

They added, "Current serving robots are mainly limited to one-way service in food and beverage establishments, simply transporting items as instructed by humans. However, this solution, which autonomously analyzes various customer data and provides advanced marketing services, is the first of its kind and an opportunity to elevate the value of serving robots to a new level."

Furthermore, they explained, "SIRBOT's competitiveness against Chinese serving robots, which currently have high market share due to low prices, lies in its intelligence and advancement, providing higher utilization value and benefits."

According to the company, RGT is developing serving robots with South Korean technology, and SIRBOT is currently used in 12 countries worldwide, including the United States. Through this selection, RGT plans to enter the retail industry in the United States, where large supermarkets are well-developed. Additionally, through the development of this solution, RGT aims to diversify revenue models across the service industry, including the food service sector, secure specialized service robot technology in the global market, and differentiate the competitiveness of South Korean serving robots.
