RGT Co., Ltd. (CEO: Hojung Jung), a leading Korean service robotics company, has announced the upgrade of its existing cooking robot, specifically customized for frying, to strengthen its integrated automation solutions across the food service industry. An RGT representative stated, “The upgraded SIRBOT cooking robot not only handles tasks such as heating and beverage preparation but now also precisely replicates the delicate frying processes performed by skilled chefs. This ensures consistent taste and quality.”

The representative added, “The robot executes detailed processes such as shaking food in oil or briefly exposing it to air to remove excess oil, exactly as pre-programmed. This capability maintains the quality of fried items such as chicken and can also be applied to other menu items like pork cutlets and French fries.”

RGT has already automated the order, payment, and serving processes by integrating its proprietary AI-driven autonomous serving robot, SIRBOT, with the table-order and NFC-order system, SIRBOT TAG. Since 2019, the company has been supplying automation solutions to kitchen robot franchises, demonstrating its technological ability to integrate various robot functions into a cohesive system. For example, tasks that previously required manually selecting different cooking operations on a robotic arm are now fully automated. Once cooking is complete, the SIRBOT serving robot delivers the food directly to the table, creating a seamless inter-robot operation system.

With the recent upgrade to the cooking robot, RGT has solidified its ‘Total Automation Solution for the Food Service Industry,’ enabling stable and efficient operations with limited staff and resources. An RGT representative shared a recent success story: “In a specialized food mart in Gyeonggi Province, a single employee was able to cook and serve 103 batches per day (67 batches of fried chicken and 20 batches of fried shrimp) using the SIRBOT cooking robot. This resulted in productivity and efficiency comparable to that of large franchises and supermarkets, but with significantly fewer staff.”

The representative emphasized, “This solution helps reduce labor costs and facilitates stable and efficient operations in any type of establishment. It also improves working conditions by minimizing exposure to cooking fumes and high temperatures, and enhances convenience in staffing.”
